ELECNOR was established in 1958 as electricity market operator and since diversified into power generation, gas, telecommunications, transport, water and environment. The group consists of more than 40 companies and employs more than 7.000 people in Spain and 21 foreign countries, with a broad network in South and North America. Since 2008 it has an office in Chongqing, to participate in Go West investment opportunities. It has high engineering, construction and operating capability, specializes in integrated project management and invests directly in projects around the globe.
Its consolidated revenues for 2007 were 1.600 million Euros and the Group is ready to invest in China in the field of alternative energy: wind farms and photovoltaic plants and environment: sewage and Municipal Solid Waste treatment plants. Elecnor has a very high technological level and long years of experience in integrated project development around the world. As project development and construction company it does all feasibility studies, organizes procurement and construction activity and can operate directly or in JV with a local company all the facilities built in the field of energy and environment. It has an agreement with MCC-Metallurgical Contruction Corporation to work together in construction projects in China, thus bringing in both foreign and Chinese building experience. This allows the ELECNOR-MCC cooperation be competitive in projects in China.
