图木舒克市位于新疆维吾尔自治区西南，天山南麓塔克拉玛干沙漠西北边缘城镇密集区，地处喀什、阿克苏、克州、和田四个地州市的中心地带。市域面积一千九百零一平方公里。全市东西长100公里，南北阔54公里，城市辖区已形成内部连接外部的交通网络。

      图木舒克——维吾尔语的寓意是“鹰面部突出的地方”。 自古以来这里就是古丝绸之路的必经之地。图木舒克市有着独特地缘优势，是中国对中亚、西亚、南亚各国开放的前沿，具有向中亚、中东及西欧区域发展的机遇和巨大潜力。

      市域总人口十五万人。有维、汉、回、蒙等13个民族。多民族文化相互熏陶、团结友好、和睦相处。

      图木舒克市有被称为西北最大的平原水库，总库容达7亿立方米的小海子水库。

      图木舒克市是我国重要的细绒棉、长绒棉生产基地，年产皮棉15.5 万吨；现有林果面积300万亩，盛产香梨、伽师瓜、巴旦杏、木纳格葡萄等各种特色优质瓜果；图市及周边牲畜存栏750多万头（只），有丰厚的畜牧资源优势；市域有丰富的野生甘草、罗布麻、大芸、枸杞、苦豆子等资源；辖区还有丰富的石灰石及其它矿产资源，为发展新型建材产业提供了资源保障。

 

 

 

 

Tumushuke city lies in the southwest of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, southern foot of Tianshan Mountain and northwest urban compact district of edge of Takla Makan Desert. It is located in the center areas of Kashgar, Akesu, Kezilesu and Hetian cities of four states. Tumusuke City has a total area of 1901km² under its administration. The whole city is 100 kilometers from east to west and 54 kilometers from north to south, and has already formed the traffic network from inside to outside in the area under one's jurisdiction of the city.

Tumushuke - -The implied meaning is "the outstanding part in the face of a hawk" by Uygur. Here has been the only way which must be passed of ancient Silk Road since ancient times. Tumushuke city has unique geo-advantages, it is the front line of China opening to various countries of Central Asia, west Asia and South Asia, and has the developing opportunity and enormous potentiality of Central Asia, Middle East and the region of western Europe.

The total population of Tumushuke city is 150,000 and there are 13 nationalities, such as the Uygur nationality, the Han nationality, the Hui nationality and the Mongol nationality, etc. Multi-national culture exerts an uplifting influence on, and the people is united and friendly, live in harmony each other.

Tumushuke city is known as the largest plain reservoir of the Northwest, the installed capacity is up to Xiaohaizi reservoir of 700 million cubic meters.

Tumushuke city is the important thin fine hair cotton and long-staple cotton production base of our country, the production is 155 thousand tons of ginned cotton per year. Now it has forest fruit 3 million of area, abound with various kinds of characteristic high-quality melon and fruit, for example fragrant pear, Jiashi melon, almond and Munage grape, etc. There are generous animal husbandry resources in Tumushuke city and the peripheral, more than 7.5 million heads of livestock. There are much wild licorice root, dogbane, herba cistanches, matrimony vine and fenugreek, etc. And there are a lot of lime stone and other mineral resources in the area under one's jurisdiction have offered the resource guarantee for developing the new-type building materials industry.
